At Lynn Benson Woodworking, we are committed to delivering exceptional quality and ensuring your complete satisfaction with every project. This policy outlines our approach to addressing concerns and resolving issues should they arise.

Project Deposits and Payments

Deposit Policy

  • Project deposits are required to secure scheduling and purchase materials
  • Deposits are typically 25-50% of total project cost
  • Deposits are refundable if we cannot fulfill the agreed timeline
  • Client-initiated cancellations may result in partial deposit retention for materials ordered

Quality Standards

We stand behind our workmanship and materials. If you are not satisfied with the quality of our work, we will:

  • Address any workmanship issues at no additional cost
  • Replace defective materials covered under manufacturer warranties
  • Work with you to find mutually acceptable solutions
  • Provide clear communication throughout the resolution process

Warranty Coverage

Workmanship Warranty

  • Structural elements: 5 years from completion
  • Finishes and surface work: 2 years from completion
  • Hardware and mechanisms: 1 year from completion

Material Warranties

  • Hardwood materials: Manufacturer warranty terms apply
  • Hardware and fasteners: Manufacturer warranty coverage
  • Finishes and stains: 2-year coverage against premature failure

Cancellation Policy

Project cancellations are handled as follows:

  • Cancellations before material ordering: Full deposit refund minus design fees
  • Cancellations after material ordering: Refund minus material costs and design fees
  • Cancellations during construction: Prorated refund based on work completed
  • Custom pieces cannot be refunded once construction begins due to their personalized nature

Dispute Resolution Process

If you have concerns about your project or our services:

  1. Contact us immediately to discuss the issue
  2. We will schedule an on-site evaluation within 48 hours
  3. We will provide a written resolution plan within one week
  4. If needed, we will engage a neutral third party for evaluation
  5. All resolutions will be documented in writing

Limitations

This policy does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear from regular use
  • Damage from misuse, accidents, or natural disasters
  • Changes in wood appearance due to natural aging
  • Issues arising from client-provided materials or specifications
  • Modifications made by other contractors after project completion
